The first industrial robot was installed in a General Motors plant in 1961. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of that event, Automate 2011 will feature a special pavilion that takes a look at the development of the robotics industry, from pre-historic concepts to Asimov’s “Three Laws,” to Joe Engelberger’s founding of Unimation, and more.
