Doors Open Soon on Automate 2011 for Robots, Machine Vision, Motion Control and New Technology
(March 17, 2011 - Ann Arbor, Michigan USA) - Robots, machine vision, motion control and new technology converge at McCormick Place North in Chicago, Illinois during Automate 2011, March 21-24. Held in conjunction with ProMat, the premier trade show for material handling and logistics solutions in North America, attendees can visit both shows with one free badge. Together, these shows have already attracted some 30,000 registrations and hundreds of conference goers.
Fifty years ago robots debuted with the installation of the first industrial robot at a General Motors plant in Trenton, New Jersey in 1961. Since then the technology has become more precise, more reliable and more versatile through incorporation of machine vision, new manipulators and various sensors.
“Right now the trend toward automation in the workforce is huge,” said Jeff Burnstein, President, Automation Technologies Council, primary sponsor of Automate 2011. “Companies have discovered that automation is a great equalizer when competing against low-wage nations like China. Don’t take my word for it, though. Come to the conference and hear people like Drew Greenblatt, president of Marlin Steel Wire in Maryland, explain how his business (and payroll) has grown thanks to robots and automation.”
More than 40 conference sessions and tutorials are offered at Automate 2011, with fees ranging from $225 for one day to $895 for all four days. Students and faculty are welcome to free sessions on Thursday, March 24 beginning at 8:30 AM.
Burnstein said attendees of Automate 2011 will see the latest products from 150 companies, and demonstrations of complete solutions from more than 20 leading systems integrators. The Show is free to people 16 years of age or older. Doors to the exhibits open at 10 AM March 21-24, closing at 5 PM each day except Thursday, the last day of the Show which ends at 3 PM.
Automate 2011 is sponsored by Robotic Industries Association, Automated Imaging Association and Motion Control Association. They are the only trade associations in North America dedicated solely to the specific technologies at this show and have the support of a combined 575 corporate members. A full-time professional association staff helps the members become stronger through trends analysis, standards development, training and education.
“Now is the time to join these trade associations,” said Burnstein, “So come to the Show and take the Leadership through Association discount: twenty-percent off first year’s dues to new members. We have very affordable memberships for suppliers, integrators and distributors. And, unlike some trade associations, we extend these low rates to educators, consultants, researchers and end users.”
New initiatives in certification of systems integrators will be announced at the Show as RIA and AIA unveil plans for corporate certification. Already this year AIA has rolled out individual certification. Attendees can take exams at the Conference to become Certified Vision Professionals.
